Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Statement

September 2026

This policy was adopted on 21 September 2026. It will next be reviewed on or before 21 September 2027.

This policy has been approved by: Annette Crosse (annette@egality.health)

Introduction

Egality exists to address health inequalities by improving diversity and representation in medical research and clinical trials. Inclusion, diversity and equity are not an add-on to that work: they are the reason it matters. We cannot credibly champion representation for the communities we serve unless we hold ourselves to the same standard as an organisation, an employer, and a partner.

This statement sets out our commitment to embedding inclusion, diversity and equity across everything we do.

Our commitment

Egality commits to advancing inclusion, diversity and equity across three areas of our work:

  • Our operations: How we recruit, employ, develop, and support our people, and how we make decisions as an organisation.
  • Our clients and services: How we design and deliver engagement, recruitment, and communications work so that it is inclusive and accessible by default.
  • Our communities: How we work with patients, people with lived experience, and under-served communities so that their voices genuinely shape research.

The principles we uphold

By inclusion, diversity and equity we mean those principles together with related ones including justice, access, belonging, equality, and fairness. In practice, this means we commit to:

  • Build and support a diverse team, and remove barriers to fair recruitment, progression, and pay.
  • Design our services and communications so that people are not excluded by disability, language, culture, ethnicity, or other characteristics.
  • Co-produce our work in genuine partnership with the communities it represents, rather than speaking on their behalf.
  • Hold ourselves accountable through measurable action, and report openly on our progress, including where we fall short.

Accountability

Accountability for this commitment is assigned to Annette Crosse, CEO and Founder. This statement is approved by Annette Crosse, CEO and Founder, and is published on our website and freely available to all.

We translate this commitment into the specific actions through our inclusion, diversity and equity actions we have chosen and implemented, and we review our progress at least once a year as part of our annual governance review.
