September 2026

About Egality

Egality is a community engagement and communications agency working to make health research and clinical trials more inclusive and representative. Respect for human rights is inseparable from that mission. The communities we work with are too often under-served, and our purpose depends on treating every person we engage, employ, or partner fairly and with dignity.

This statement sets out our commitment to respect internationally recognised human rights throughout our operations and business relationships.

Our commitment

Egality commits to respecting human rights and to upholding each of the following internationally recognised frameworks:

  • The United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
  • The International Bill of Human Rights, including the rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
  • The International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

What this means in practice

We recognise that respecting human rights requires action, not only intent. In line with these frameworks, we commit to:

  • Treat our workers fairly, with safe and dignified working conditions, freedom from discrimination, and freedom of association.
  • Uphold the rights and dignity of the patients, community members, and people with lived experience we engage, ensuring participation is voluntary, informed, and free from coercion.
  • Consider the human rights impacts of our procurement and partnership decisions, including how our suppliers and partners treat their own workers and communities.
  • Avoid causing or contributing to adverse human rights impacts through our own activities and seek to prevent or mitigate impacts directly linked to our operations, services, or relationships.
  • Provide, or cooperate in, legitimate processes through which those affected can raise concerns, in line with our grievance procedure.

 Scope

This commitment applies to all Egality employees, contractors, and associates, and informs our expectations of the suppliers, partners, and clients we work with across the UK, EU, and US.

Accountability and review

Accountability for this commitment sits with Annette Crosse, Founder and CEO. It is approved by Annette Crosse, Founder and CEO and it published on our website and freely available to all. We review it at least once every 12 months, or sooner if our operations or obligations change materially.
